Dr. Mustafa Tattan, DDS, MS

Dr. Tattan, originally from Mississauga, ON, Canada, completed his dental training in Dubai. He completed a Periodontics fellowship at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, then moved to Iowa City and obtained a Certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Science in Oral Science at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. His research included the study of guided implant placement, surgical therapy of peri-implantitis and advanced bone grafting techniques. Dr. Tattan has spent an extensive amount of time training with some of the world's leading clinicians and is licensed to deliver intravenous sedation for patient comfort.
Dr. Tattan obtained the Diplomate status by the American Board of Periodontology. He has published over 30 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of implant dentistry, bone and gum grafting, and periodontal disease. He currently serves as a scientific reviewer for the Journal of Periodontology, International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research, Clinical Advances of Periodontology, International Journal of Oral Implantology, and Clinical and Experimental Dental Research.
He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Michigan and is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, Midwest Society of Periodontology, Michigan Periodontal Association, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association and Genesee District Dental Society.
When not caring for his patients, Dr. Tattan enjoys spending quality time with his family, traveling and cheering on the Pistons, Lions and Wolverines!
